Watchmaker Tissot was awarded the first prize in the 'Classic – Enterprise' division, at the International Timing Competition on 20 October.
The ceremony, held at Château des Monts in Le Locle, Switzerland, celebrated "precision, perfection and expertise in the watchmaking arena, specifically in the domain of contemporary mechanical timing."
The results followed scientific, technical and cultural procedures that were carried out in official certified laboratories of the Besançon's Observatory and by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (Swiss Official Controlling of Timing) in Bienne and Le Locle, as well as being exposed to particularly tough magnetic fields and shocks at the Haute Ecole Arc in le Locle.
Tissot president Francois Thiébaud said: "Receiving this award is a great honour for us and we would like to dedicate it to everyone who contributed to our knowledge and expertise, which remains unique to Switzerland."
