Fitzgerald Jewellers to open department-style store

The store is ‘over four times larger’ than its current premises and it will combine an on-site workshop with a host of curated jewellery and watch brands.

Canterbury based independent jewellers, Fitzgerald Jewellers, has announced it is set to open its new store on 29 November.

The store is reportedly “over four times larger” than its current premises and it will combine an on-site workshop with a host of curated jewellery and watch brands.

Fitzgerald Jewellers said it has “outgrown” its existing premises and “grabbed at the chance” to grow on its success when the opportunity to move next door came up.

The four-month refit has been designed in house and was completed by a team of local, independent tradesmen.

Additionally, the move marks Fitzgerald’s 20th anniversary. Following its opening in 2001, the company has opened five additional jewellery shops, with plans for more in the works.

Meanwhile, the jewellers have reportedly seen “extraordinary success” since its refit in 2017 and it hopes for the new store to capitalise on this achievement.

Olivia Stewart-Stead, manager of Fitzgerald Jewellers, said: “Shopping needs to be so much more of an experience now. People need a reason to leave their house after months of shopping online. With our new and improved in store experience, we’re giving customers a reason to visit us.”

Trevor Fitzgerald, owner and founder, said: “We’re really proud to be embarking on this move as we reach such a significant milestone.”
