Annually, the business donates 20% of post-tax profits to its charitable trust and matches the funds that its teams raise for local charities. Since 2000 Beaverbrooks has donated over £8m to charitable causes.

Beaverbrooks chairman Mark Adlestone also received the UK’s ‘Best Leader’ award for the 5th time since 2004.

Adlestone said: “The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For is a significant and nationally recognised survey and the award is testament to the fact that our people have been at the heart of our business ever since the company began in 1919.

“Each and every employee has pulled together to make Beaverbrooks a fantastic place to work over the last 12 months, our 95th year, and we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

Adlestone was joined at the helm in 2013 by the company’s first female, non-family chief executive Anna Blackburn, who shares leadership responsibilities.

Adlestone added: “Anna is an exceptional co-leader and working with her has been an absolute pleasure so far. The award win is as a result of working with such a superb company of people and Anna and I are doing all we can to ensure that Beaverbrooks remains in the top 20 for years to come.”
