Myne London to host inaugural charity ball in March

Auction items include pieces of jewellery featuring Myne London emeralds by Octavia Elizabeth, and a bespoke cut morganite gemstone from UK master cutter Dr Steven Sweetman

London-based ethical emerald supplier, Myne London, has announced it will raise funds through its inaugural charity ball for lapidary communities in the northern regions of Pakistan.

The Myne London Foundation was created in September 2021 to support women in Pakistan by giving their daughters the funds they need for school fees, uniforms and transportation

To celebrate the launch of the Myne London Foundation, co-founders and sisters Fiona Wellington and Kate Murray Gordos will host an inaugural event at The Hurlingham Club, a private members’ club in Chelsea, on Saturday 19 March 2022, sponsored by Branding Science Group.

The event will include a charity raffle and auction with prizes donated by the business’ supporters across the fashion, jewellery and entertainment industries.

Auction items include pieces of jewellery featuring Myne London emeralds by Octavia Elizabeth, a bespoke cut morganite gemstone from UK master cutter Dr Steven Sweetman, dance lesson with Strictly Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix VIP tickets, and a private dining experience at Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant.

Myne London trains and employs a 75% female workforce to deliver melee emeralds to designer jewellery brands across the world.

The business focuses on promoting women’s empowerment through access to education, training and skilled employment, as well as the creation of Swat Valley emerald bespoke jewellery and collaborations with international jewellery brands and designers.

Wellington said: “The Myne London Foundation aspires to banish the limiting factors that prevent the Myne London emerald community from achieving their educational needs.

“Our debut Myne London Charity Ball will raise funds to support the initiatives of our Foundation and will bring our customers, friends, peers and members of the gemstone and jewellery trades together for an evening of networking and entertainment.”
