As Prime Warden, he will aim to help the Goldsmiths’ Company build on its efforts to improve the business and leadership skills of jewellers and silversmiths, enabling those who wish to grow to fulfil their potential.

He began working in the Liverpool branch of Boodles, which was purchased by the Wainwright family in 1911, at 15-years-old before officially joining the company in 1984 after graduating from Exeter University with a degree in accounting and economics.

Wainwright is also a fundraising trustee for the Rainbow Trust, a charity offering care and support to families with terminally ill children, and provides enterprise mentorship at the Cranfield School of Business.

Boodles now has a portfolio of nine stores with five in London, three in the north of England and one in Dublin.
