Three axe-wielding masked men who smashed their way into Beaverbrooks have been caught on video by an eye witness.
The raid took place in broad daylight in the Potteries Shopping Centre, Stoke-on-Trent, at 10:50am yesterday, Monday November 17, and the raiders are believed to have made off with a quantity of watches and jewellery.
A spokesperson for the Staffordshire Police, said: “Three masked men, believed to be armed with an axe, smashed counters at the Beaverbrooks store before making off with a quantity of jewellery. The men were seen leaving the area in a red car which is believed to be a Ford Focus.”
Anna Blackburn, CEO of Beaverbrooks, said: “We can confirm an incident took place this morning at our Hanley store. This is a matter being handled by the police and therefore we cannot comment on the investigation. We are doing everything we can to assist the police in their enquiries and to ensure our team have all the support during this distressing time.”
