Jewellery worth more than £2,000 has been stolen from the Harrogate Home & Gift Show.
Two stands reported the incident to the police, which is believed to have taken place at some point between the traders setting up on Saturday and the opening of the show on Sunday.
The theft from one stand selling silver marcasite watches totalled some £2,000 worth of jewellery, while it is thought that around £50 worth of costume jewellery was taken from a second stall.
It is believed that the items were stolen overnight between 9.30pm on Saturday, July 18, and 8am Sunday, July 19.
North Yorkshire Police said that it believes around six stall holders have had items stolen, although only two have been reported to the police. Officers are currently in the process of tracing the others who may have had items stolen.
A spokesperson for the North Yorkshire police said: “Two thefts [were] reported to the police on Sunday morning. One around £2,000 worth of jewellery including silver marcasite watches, the other around £50 worth of costume jewellery.
“It is believed there are around six stall holders who have had things stolen, however, only two have reported to the police.”
