Tiffany and Co. has acquired a rough Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond of over 71 total carats, yielding two yellow diamonds of over 15 and 20 carats each.

Tiffany and Co. artisans cut each in the highly coveted classic emerald shape. Sourced in Canada, Tiffany and Co’s artisans cut each in the classic emerald shape.

The rough gem was sustainably sourced from the Ekati Mine in the Northwest territories of the region.

Charles Lewis Tiffany and his gemologists were among the first to travel the globe seeking rare and unusual gemstones.

Their pioneering exploration unearthed “never-before-seen” stones of exceptional colour and quality.

Earlier in 2023 Tiffany and Co. announced the acquisition of similarly rare Argyle Pink Diamonds, sourced from Rio Tinto’s Renowned Australian Argyle Diamond Mine and the Tiffany Muzo Emerald, sourced directly from Muzo Emerald Colombia.

The House will debut both yellow diamonds this month.

Victoria Wirth Reynolds, chief gemologist at Tiffany and Co, said:“As the world’s authority on rare gems, we are excited to announce our recent acquisition of the 71-carat yellow diamond, which represents Tiffany’s heritage of acquiring the most coveted gems on earth.

“Impressive for its colour and size, our artisans handcrafted this rough stone into two gems of unparalleled vivid yellow colour and brilliance—transforming nature’s miracles through the exceptional skill of Tiffany craftsmanship.”
