Boodles has unveiled its latest collection, Fifth Avenue. These pieces have been designed to celebrate the brand’s 25 year relationship with the “iconic” Ashoka diamond and the William Goldberg family.
The Goldberg family founded William Goldberg Diamonds over a half century ago and is now one of the most distinguished diamond jewellery houses.
Drawing inspiration from the birthplace of the Ashoka diamond, Fifth Avenue reflects Manhattan’s architecture with modern, structural pieces in an Art Deco style.
Each Ashoka diamond is cut and polished by Goldberg on the corner of William Goldberg Way and Fifth Avenue, making ‘Fifth Avenue’ a fitting name for this New York-inspired collection.
Much in the same way as buildings in a city are seen from a variety of different angles, revealing secret and hidden intricacies; Fifth Avenue includes delicate detailing at the back of the jewellery pieces.
For example, a “subtle smattering” of diamonds surrounds the back of the main diamond or gemstone that takes centre stage at the front of the piece, while a latticework of enamel is continued on the reverse of a pendant or ring.
Boodles’ pink diamonds are included throughout, adding a “touch of femininity to these otherwise structured pieces”, and the Ashoka diamond takes centre stage.
Alongside the collection’s core Ashoka and pink diamond pieces, a selection of one-off coloured jewellery pieces are available featuring rubies, sapphires and orange diamonds.
