Beaverbrooks to reopen sites with additional safety measures
Beaverbrooks has announced a new host of safety measures that it will implement ahead of its planned opening next month.
Following the prime minister’s announcement that non-essential retailers would reopen on 15 June, the jewellery chain confirmed that it was planning to resume trading across its 70 stores in England.
The group has implemented a range of new measures in order to ensure the safety of customers and employees across its sites.
New measures include floor markings and physical boundaries in order to enforce social distancing, whilst perspex screens will also be installed at all consultation points.
Meanwhile, hand sanitiser stations will be in place at shop entrances and throughout all stores.
A customer host will greet customers when they arrive at the store, and a designated staff member will then assist them during their visit.
While hosts will be required to wear PPE, it is not mandatory for other staff, though they do have the option to wear it if that is their preference. Masks and gloves will also be available for customers.
In addition, the jeweller will introduce a “rigorous” hygiene process to enable customers to try on jewellery. This includes a regular rotation of limited stock and the use of specialist cleaning solutions.
Anna Blackburn, managing director, said: “As always, the safety of our people and customers is our number one priority, so we have been working hard behind the scenes to put measures in place to protect them when we reopen our doors.
“Over the past few months, we have been developing comprehensive plans for this reopening, which put safety at the top of the list while ensuring we are able to resume the high level of personal service our customers expect.”
She added: “In addition to taking key steps to ensure customers will be able to shop in a safe environment, it was important to us that people would still be able to try on their jewellery before buying – particularly for sentimental items.”
