The Taj Khazana boutique is the first to open outside India and specialises in handmade items from areas such as Rajasthan, central India and the south, including Hyderabad, Chennai and Kerala.
The Westminster store will stock items such as jewellery, shawls, stoles and throws from specially selected Indian designers.
Chief operating officer at Taj Khazana Sarita Hegde Roy said: “The unique and authentic products available through Taj Khazana allow customers to purchase genuine Indian treasures, whilst helping to sustain the livelihoods of truly talented Indian artisans. That’s what we mean by ‘meaningful gifting – luxury with a purpose’.”
Taj Khazana has helped a large number of craftsmen throughout India including the handloom weavers in Varanasi who were facing extinction.
