It was announced yesterday at IJL that the National Association of Goldsmiths and the British Jewellers Association have agreed to ‘explore ways of developing closer cooperation.’
As a result of this new partnership the two associations have set up a ‘working group’ which will look at ways they can work together, with the hopes of benefiting both its members and the jewellery industry as a whole.
Currently, both provide similar functions to its members and having worked together in the past want to explore a closer relationship, Gary Williams, BJA chairman said: “We have seen the success of partnering together in many industry projects such as CIBJO, RJC and SaferGems and we recognise the huge benefits that future collaborations will bring.”
Pravin Pattni NAG chairman said: “When we can present together a united voice representing our members and the jewellery industry, external stakeholders will listen and take note of our views and ideas. This is a very positive and constructive way forward.”
