Two men have been charged for burglary in connection to a raid on a jewellers shop in Northampton where a car was used to smash down a door.

According to a report from Leicestershire Police, Steffans Jewellers in The Square, Market Harborough, was targeted at around 4:45am on Friday November 14.

The police report states that all goods believed to have been taken in the raid have been returned to the jewellers. It is understood that the raid was thwarted by a fog system being activated in the store.

The two men, aged 35 and 36, are due to appear at Northampton Magistrates Court this morning, Monday November 17.
