High street jewellery chain Beaverbrooks the Jewellers has announced the appointment of Simon Smith as its new head of retail.

Smith has served 22 years at Beaverbrooks and has worked his way through the stores, starting at Beaverbrooks Warrington before becoming part of the management team as regional manager of the Midlands in 2001.

Anna Blackburn, CEO of Beaverbrooks, said: “I am delighted to announce Simon’s appointment as our new head of retail. Not only does he have all the right credentials, Simon is passionate about our business, our customers and our people. We cannot wait to welcome him to the office and see how he makes this role his own.”

In his new role, Smith will be working with the individual store managers and teams, as well as the all major departments at head office.

Smith said: “I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. For me it’s really about working closely with the teams at head office, whilst staying in touch with the store teams to build a synergy between the two.

“Most importantly I want to continue developing the core values of Beaverbrooks to make sure we offer the very best experience for our customers.”

Smith’s news comes shortly after Beaverbrooks announced that Anna Blackburn was to become the first non-family member to be appointed CEO.
