International consumer-goods event, Tendence, will unveil its new Talents Carat display in August, giving 21 up-and-coming designers their very own display.

The Talents Carat display will see the 21 up-and-coming talents, from nine different countries, exhibit their first jewellery creations to an international public consisting of buyers, manufacturers and trend scouts.

The chosen designers have backgrounds in product design, graphics and stage scenery and will display jewellery from an ‘unconventional’ mix of materials, including porcelain, textiles, recycled silver and PVC foil.

Nicolette, vice president at Ambiente and Tendence, said: “In my view the creative diversity provided by ‘Talents’, the individual designs and, with many of them, the courage to explore entirely new creative paths, are an absolute enrichment, not only for Tendence, but for the jewellery industry as a whole.

“It is an opportunity for purchasers to respond to quite new impulses and to include jewellery collections in their range that are very much in keeping with the spirit of the times.”

Involved in the event will be Greek interior and graphics designer, Teresa Degleri, who creates colourful and fairytale chains from crocheted wool, finding her source of inspiration from Greek mythology and nature.

Also included in the inaugural event will be Chinese-born Yiqing Cai, her work work draws parallels between human organs and the fruits of nature. Her works are appriotley named ‘Mango’, ‘Kiwi’ and ‘Red Lungs’.

Tendence will run from August 30 to September 2 in Frankfurt, Germany.
