Gems TV and its founder are the subject of an new behind-the-scenes documentary to be aired on 2 September at 9pm on ITV.

Founded by professional gem hunter Steve Bennett, Gems TV has become a large retail jewellery business in Britain. Sales are generated through its TV channel (Sky Channel 655, Freeview 43), and attract up to 3,000 calls an hour from customers. The business does not have a bricks-and-mortar retail store.

The TV documentary goes behind the scenes at the family-run company, showing the company’s unique ‘mine to market’ approach, a model which enables Bennett to source the stones in a socially responsible way, whilst also being able to offer reasonable prices to consumers by cutting out the middle man.

Gems TV is broadcast to Europe and North America 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is known for its presenters’ knowledge and insight on the sourcing of gems and mineralogy.

Bennett provides much of the insight and often appears himself on the show, alongside family members including his wife Sarah, who also works for the business.
