Over 75% of RJC members are now certified

RJC has announced over 75% of its members have now achieved Certified Member status under the RJC Code of Practice (COP).
This means that more than 400 of the total 532 members are now certified, with the remaining members working towards their two-year deadline following joining RJC.
These certified members represent just fewer than 6000 facilities or locations covered by the certification and are spread over 53 countries. According to the RJC these locations employ over 270,000 people.
Diamond traders, cutters and polishers are the most are the most represented forum with 196 certifications, according to the RJC.
Jewellery manufacturers and wholesalers follow with 116 certifications, and there are 49 certified retailers. Gold and platinum group metal traders, refiners and hedgers hold 27 certifications and the service industry represent 12 certifications.
Ashish Deo, RJC’s chief executive officer, said: “We are proud to have reached such an impressive milestone. I would like to congratulate these members and also thank them for their commitment. RJC is committed to help its members achieve the desired standards and stay relevant to the issues and opportunities they face in relation to ethical and responsible business practice.”
