Police are on the hunt for thieves who stole some £30,000 worth of goods from a jewellers in Cornwall.

The incident, which took place at Little Jems Jewellers in Treganna Place shortly after 3:50am on Saturday, 21 November, saw the offenders enter the shop by smashing the front glass door before stealing the contents of two window displays and other items of jewellery.

It is believed they left the shop with at least 10 diamond rings, five of which were white gold solitaire engagement rings, 15 gold bangles and 20 gold bracelets, including three chunky mens’ gold bracelets.

Some of the stolen items are described as:

  • A 9-carat yellow gold Art Nouveau ruby necklace
  • An 18-carat white gold sapphire and diamond petal cluster ring in a rub over setting
  • An 18-carat yellow gold Victorian sapphire and diamond marquise-shaped ring
  • An 18-carat yellow gold handmade heavy-set emerald cut topaz ring with  diamond inlay shoulder detail
  • An 18-carat yellow gold handmade heavy-set pear-shaped topaz ring with claw set diamond surround and diamond inlay shoulder detail
  • An 18-carat yellow gold five stone sapphire channel-set half eternity ring
  • 18-carat white gold multi-wear sapphire and diamond stud round earrings with detachable centre diamond stud

Police said enquiries are continuing and detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the burglary, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, to get in touch.

Police said that officers are keen to speak to anyone who has been offered any of these items of jewellery for sale.
