Jewellery retailer Allum & Sidaway has announced the appointment of Ivonna Poplanska as its new jewellery design director.

A multi-award winning designer, Poplanska has had a 10-year career working on numerous bespoke commissions including the creation of the ‘The Eternal Dove’ brooch for Queen Elizabeth II, which was presented in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

She will take up the role in May and will be available for free design consultations across the company’s five stores, although she will be eventually based in its Salisbury store opening later this summer.

The new store will feature a private bridal, fine jewellery and bespoke area where Poplanska will promote and work on bespoke commissions within the group.

Jason Allum, managing director, said: “We are delighted that Ivonna has agreed to join our group as she has an amazing talent and her extensive design experience and inspiration will allow us to offer an unrivalled and unique service to our clients.”

Poplanska added: “Designing a bespoke engagement ring or redesigning our customer’s heirloom jewellery will give me an opportunity to take them on a beautiful journey when they are at the happiest times of their lives”.
