The theft happened shortly before 2:20pm, when a man and a woman are reported to have entered the premises, accessed a cabinet in the back room and stolen a quantity of jewellery.

They are believed to have made off in a small black car heading away from the high street.

Police officers investigating the incident are now appealing for help to trace the man and woman seen in the CCTV images.

The woman is described as white, around 30 years old, approximately 5ft 6in tall and of slim build, with blonde hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing black and white loose fitting patterned trousers and a tracksuit top.

Meanwhile, the man is described as white, aged between his 30s and 40s and approximately 5ft 7in tall. He is of slim build, with short brown hair and was wearing a brown tweed flat cap, black jacket – possibly leather – and blue jeans.
