British jeweller Elizabeth Gage has been named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List to receive an MBE.

The Master Goldsmith has been creating jewellery for over 50 years and works with 18 and 22-carat gold.

Her designs are inspired by different cultures, histories and nature and have become worldwide collectibles.

She has been the recipient of the De Beers award in 1972 and was given the Queen’s Award for Exports and an industry Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.

Gage will also exhibit her work at the Goldsmiths’ Fair later this year.

Commenting on the MBE, she said: “I am honoured and extremely proud to receive such an award for my work. I feel so privileged to have been able to make my career doing what I love. This is a very special moment in my life and one that I will always cherish.”
