Mappin and Webb has opened its largest showroom to date in Manchester, as part of a wider investment by parent company the Watches of Switzerland Group.
The store is located in a Grade II listed building in St Ann’s Square, within a conservation area that was once the city’s jewellery quarter. The shopfront has been restored in line with the original structure, including its distinctive pink façade.
Covering 700 square metres across two floors, the showroom brings together a range of luxury jewellery brands under one roof. Among those featured are De Beers, opening its first boutique outside London, Italian designer Roberto Coin, and American brand David Yurman, whose UK collection will be available exclusively in the store.
The showroom also carries pieces from Chopard, Messika, FOPE, Fabergé and Mappin and Webb’s own collection overseen by the Crown Jeweller. A pre-owned jewellery range from Watches of Switzerland is also being launched in the space.
The development includes hospitality areas such as a lounge, bar and private shopping rooms designed to encourage longer visits.
Craig Bolton, UK president at Watches of Switzerland, said: “This new showroom represents a pivotal moment for the Watches of Switzerland Group. The space reinforces the brand’s status as a custodian of tradition and modern innovations, and we are thrilled to be bringing this experience to Manchester.
“St Ann’s Square, long regarded as Manchester’s historic jewellery quarter, provides the ideal setting for this vision. This opening marks a flagship investment by the Watches of Switzerland Group in Manchester, signalling long-term commitment to multi-brand luxury retail.”
