Crewe detectives are appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage after a burglary at an Alsager jewellers.

The raid occurred Sunday night at around 5:40pm, when unknown assailants broke into Alexandra’s Jewellers on Crewe Road.

The store was then raided, and a large quantity of jewellery was taken from the scene.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Richards, from Crewe CID, said: “This investigation is currently in its early stages and we’re following a number of lines of enquiry, including CCTV and forensics.

“As part of my investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.”

He added: “I also want to hear from anyone with a dashcam who was driving on Crewe Road or Sandbach Road South between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday 8 December may have recorded the offenders travelling to, or fleeing, the store.

“The same goes for any residents with CCTV cameras who live in the area and believe they may have footage which may aid the investigation. I urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to call the team here at Crewe on 101.”

Anyone with relevant information to the investigation is urged to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 583937.
