Istanbul Jewellery Show to go ahead despite coronavirus fears

The Istanbul Jewellery Show, due to be held at CNR Expo, Istanbul Fair Center this month, is set to go ahead despite coronavirus fears.

Organisers assured visitors that the event would still take place as scheduled between March 19 and March 22.

In a statement on its site, organisers for the event said: “Dear exhibitors & visitors, we look forward to welcoming you at the Istanbul Jewellery Show.

“As a team, we continue our preparations underway at full speed. The show is not postponed.”

It added: “Istanbul Jewellery Show is closely monitoring developments of the coronavirus, which first emerged from Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

“The health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and colleagues is always our top priority. As such, we are following all safety advice and precautions as recommended by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).”

The show will be implementing additional safety measures for the event. Sanitisers will now be provided at the venue entrance, all registration areas, exhibition halls, the media centre, buyers lounge area, organisers offices, restaurants, and toilets.

Registration areas will be “continuously” cleaned and disinfected, and disinfection will be carried out in all areas after the fair is closed every day.

In addition, cleaning and disinfection intervals of all common areas and toilets will be shortened, and air circulation will be provided to ensure there is continuous air cleaning.
