Cheffins hires jewellery valuations specialist

Cheffins has announced that Fay Roach has joined the auction house from the UK’s largest specialist jewellery valuations company.

Roach is a member of the Institute of Registered Valuers and the Jewellery Valuers Association, and is also an FGA qualified gemmologist.

She has previously worked in London’s Hatton Garden in the jewellery and watch retail market, and will now work alongside Steven Collins, the head of jewellery and watches at Cheffins.

It comes as Cheffins’ Fine Art department has “gone from strength to strength” in recent years.

The auctioneer now hosts three specialist jewellery auctions per year which see high value items on offer ranging from watches to fine jewellery to silverware.

Collins said: “Fay brings to Cheffins a wealth of experience from the jewellery and watches market.

“We welcome her into the department and are confident that her appointment will reinforce Cheffins as one of the go-to auction houses for jewellery and watches in the UK.”

Roach said: “I am pleased to be working for Cheffins because I believe that this is a great opportunity to handle jewellery from across the industry.

“The firm has long held a strong reputation for its jewellery and watches auctions and I look forward to working alongside Steven in the November sale.”
