Christie’s has announced it has been chosen to handle The Collection of Barbara Allen de Kwiatkowski, the muse of Andy Warhol.

The collection of jewellery, art and design will take place in December later this year, with additional sales taking place in April 2021; including the ‘Magnificent Jewels’ on 8 December and ‘Jewels Online’ sale from 18 November to 1 December.

Among the jewellery pieces on sale are designs from Belperron, Harry Winston, JAR, and Verdura.

Daphne Lingon, head of Jewelry at Christie’s Americas, said: “Barbara de Kwiatkowski was known for her innate sense of style in all modes of design.

“The jewellery represented in her collection includes some of the most recognized names such as JAR, Belperron, and Verdura who were makers that continually pushed boundaries looking to art and nature for inspiration.”

She added: “Her personal taste in jewels gravitated toward the bold and brilliant featuring remarkable gemstones including sapphires, emeralds and jade that pair with the vibrant colors of Pop Art complemented by an impressive and classic 10.59 carat D color, potentially Internally Flawless diamond originally purchased at Winston.”
