As the company has traded in the borough for 65 years, three members of staff were invited as special guests to the event, which saw the Queen plant a commemorative tree.
“We were privileged to be among those business people, including some local jewellers, the Mayor and other dignitaries who were invited, and we all took tea at the street party in Jubilee Road,” said the company.
“The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied the Queen and they chatted for quite some time before moving into the Market Square to meet and greet more of the hundreds of local people who had travelled into the town centre hoping to catch a glimpse of the Queen.”
Councillor Peter Morgan, executive councillor for renewal and recreation, said: “We were delighted that Walsh came along to this historic occasion. Much has happened in the past 60 years and businesses have had to adapt to continue. We need successful businesses to both thrive and survive and Walsh is a classic example of this and we wish them all the success for the future.”
