The trial of four men charged in connection with the Hatton Garden jewellery raid is set to begin today.

The trial sees Carl Wood, 58; William Lincoln, 60; and Jon Harbinson, 42, charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. Meanwhile, Hugh Doyle, 48, is charged with conspiracy to conceal, convert or transfer criminal property.

He also faces an alternative charge of concealing, converting or transferring criminal property between April 1 and May 19, this year.

They all deny the charges and spoke only to confirm their identities.

The raid saw an estimated £20m worth of valuables taken when thieves used heavy cutting equipment to break into the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
