Beaverbrooks to support Payroll Giving campaign

Beaverbrooks the Jewellers has announced its support for the launch of a new phase of the Geared for Giving campaign.

The campaign, which is calling for every employer in the UK with over 250 employees to offer Payroll Giving to their staff, aims to double the amount raised for charities to £260m annually by increasing the number of employees giving from one million to two million within five years.

Currently 23% of the UK’s largest employers offer Payroll Giving, a tax-free way for employees to give money to a charity directly from their salary. By increasing the number of employers signing up to the scheme, Geared for Giving hopes to making giving to charity through your pay a “social norm” in the UK.

The campaign is being backed by a group of the UK’s biggest employers, including ASOS, BT, Experian, Linklaters LLP and The Entertainer.
