Fine diamond and pearl jeweller Anja Potze has been shortlisted in the inaugural Small Awards in association with Facebook.

The awards have been established to recognise the achievements of small and micro businesses.

Worcester-based Anja Potze Fine Jewellery, has been recognised in the ‘Heart of Gold’ category which focuses on businesses that contribute or work within their local community.

Potze said: “We are extremely active in the community here in Worcester and beyond and have hosted networking events in the shop for societies and charities who do not have the space or facilities themselves.

“We are involved in fundraising for local and national charities. We also sponsor local community teams and events, including Worcester Warriors Rugby, Worcester Valkyries Netball, and Worcester Wolves. We also support the Strictly Worcestershire event which raises funds for the Rory the Robot appeal, and the Worcestershire Prostate Awareness Group.”

As well as being recognised for charitable activities, the winning business will be given £1,000 worth of free advertising credit.

Potze has previously worked at London’s Aspray and Garrad Group where the late Baroness Thatcher was a regular customer.
