A holiday maker called the authorities after seeing a car driving into the front window of The Jewellery Workshop at St Elvans Courtyard.

The witness then said that the car reversed and hit the shop again.

Two people are thought to be involved in the suspected raid, and it is believed they took off in a grey estate car. A car matching that description was later found abandoned and burned out near Sithney.

Police believe the suspects then made off in another vehicle.

It is not yet clear what items were taken and police are currently investigating the incident.
