The British Society of Enamellers (BSOE) has appointed silversmith and enameller Monika Kamycka as vice-chair.

She is skilled in ‘Plique-a-Jour’ enamelling, a technique which allows the enamel to become translucent, and is an advocate of enamelling education and promotion.

Kamycka, who also owns the jewellery brand Mona Pink, said: “I’m pleased and proud to have been appointed as vice-chair, just a couple of months after having joined the board as a committee member at the March AGM.

“I was very motivated to join the board, at a time when we have many exciting initiatives planned for 2018-19. I am also very much looking forward to working closely together with other members of the committee and the society to further elevate the status of enamel in modern jewellery.”

Maureen Carswell, secretary and BSOE founder, added: “The BSOE is very happy, firstly to welcome Monika to the executive committee but especially to announce her election as vice-chair.

“As well as being a talented enameller, she brings great organisational skills to the role and we look forward to a splendid year of progress in all aspects of society administration and promotion.”
