The Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) has appointed Roxanne Guest as its new chair of board.

Guest, who is Assay Master at the Birmingham Assay Office, brings years of experience in leadership and an understanding of the Jewellery Quarter’s heritage, business community and future opportunities, strengthening her new position in BID.

Her appointment comes as the BID continues its work to support local businesses, advocate for the area and strengthen the Jewellery Quarter as a vibrant destination to be in, whether to work, visit, live or invest in.

As chair, Guest will guide the strategic direction of the BID, working closely with the board and the wider team, local businesses and key partners to ensure the Jewellery Quarter continues to grow.

Speaking on her appointment, Guest said: “I am delighted to be appointed chair of The Jewellery Quarter BID Board and to have the opportunity to support an area that plays such an important role in Birmingham’s identity, economy and heritage.

“The Jewellery Quarter is a unique place, home to an extraordinary mix of businesses, makers, creatives, hospitality venues, residents and visitors. I look forward to working with the BID team, Board and wider business community to build on the BID’s work, champion local businesses and help ensure the Jewellery Quarter continues to grow and prosper.”

The BID has also acknowledged the work of its outgoing chair, Henrik Skouby, thanking him for his leadership, commitment and contribution to the organisation, whilst remaining positive about welcoming its new chair.

The BID added: “We are thrilled to welcome Roxanne Guest as the new chair of The Jewellery Quarter BID board. Roxanne brings significant experience, insight and a strong connection to the Jewellery Quarter, and her leadership will be invaluable as we continue to deliver for our members.”
