Bloom Boutique and Joma Jewellery have been named as the top jewellery retailers in Fluid Commerce and Adyen’s Jewellery and Accessories Top 50 E-commerce Report 2021.
In the report, 50 jewellery retailers were scored across 59 different criteria, with speed, security, trust, navigation, product page, delivery and returns, community, and checkout and payment acting as the subcategories.
The average score for all e-commerce retailers in the report was 61/100, while the jewellery retailers’ average sat at 68.
Bloom Boutique and Joma Jewellery both came out on top with an overall score of 75, as ChloBo and Annie Haak secured joint third place with 73 each.
The rest of the top 10 featured TH Baker and Hugo Rice with 71 each, and was rounded off by Shades of Time, who scored 68.
Many of the analysed groups were new entries, such as James Porter and Son and Wave, who placed 49th and 50th respectively.
However, a clutch of firms moved up and down the list from previous scores, including Peter Jackson’s decline to 59 points from 72 last year, and Rox’s climb from 60 points to 68 this year.
Adam Hindle, managing director at Fluid, said: “Many of the brands featured in the top 20 have made improvements to their online store to increase their overall score. This shows the importance of continually investing in your e-commerce store if you want to stay at the top of your game.
“It is hard to say for sure that the pandemic encouraged retailers to invest in their online stores, or whether these updates would have occurred anyway.”
He added: “However, it is clear that with brick and mortar stores unavailable for large chunks of the past twelve months, providing an enjoyable, intuitive and fast online shopping experience is now an essential part of a brand’s retail offering.”
