One of the ringleaders of the Hatton Garden jewellery heist, John Collins, has been jailed for three years after failing to pay back millions of pounds that were stolen during the robbery.
Collins was originally ordered to pay Ā£7.3m, but Westminster Magistratesā Court heard he had āneglected to co-operateā, according to a report by the BBC.
He was released last year after serving only three years of his seven year sentence.
The gang drilled a hole in the wall of a vault at Hatton Garden Safe Deposit in Easter 2015. The raid was labelled as the ālargest burglary in English legal historyā and two thirds of the valuables still havenāt been recovered.
Christopher Kinch, the judge handling the case, said that the men ājointly benefitted from an estimated Ā£13.69m worth of stolen cash, gold and gemsā.
