According to the BRC’s figures, like-for-like retail sales during February were up 2.7 per cent on the previous year – the fastest rate of like-for-like sales growth since December 2009.
“February saw growth across all parts of retailing, with big-ticket goods and items for the home recovering particularly well,” said BRC director general Helen Dickinson.
The growth has been attributed to the dry weather experienced throughout the month.
