Viv Siberry-Scott, manager of the high-end pawnbroking company’s Birmingham store, explained: “Having met Barnardo’s representative Adele Diviney at a business networking event, and listened to her talk passionately about the charity, it was a quick and easy decision to help and get involved.

“When I put out a request to the company’s employees to get involved in raising funds, I was delighted with the response. There are eight members of staff willing to launch themselves out of an aeroplane in order to raise much-needed money, including a company director, a regional manager, a branch manager and five members of staff.

“We are thrilled to take on this challenge in aid of Barnardo’s. This is one of the most exciting challenges in our life, and we are taking part in this event for Barnardo’s because we believe in their cause. They make a real difference to the lives of the vulnerable children and families they work with. Knowing the money we raise will be used to improve the lives of neglected children throughout the UK is the main drive for our motivation.’’
