Police have opened investigations after a raid at a jewellery store in Preston, Lancashire, saw thieves make off with a quantity of jewellery.

Officers were called to Hackler’s Jewellers, in Lune Street, at around 8am on Sunday 20 November following reports of a burglary in the city.

It is believed the offenders accessed the jewellers between 7:15am and 7:45am through the roof area of the building before making off from the scene with an “unknown quantity of jewellery”.

Lune Street was closed as officers, with the help of a fire service cherry picker, climbed onto the building’s roof to inspect it. Police said enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information can contact Preston Police on 101 quoting crime reference SA1615606.
