Luxury jeweller Laings has announced plans to open a new showroom in Glasgow, marking its fifth location in the UK.

Scheduled to open at the end of July, the showroom will occupy the retailer’s former unit in the Argyll Arcade following the recent launch of its Buchanan Street flagship.

The showroom will feature an on-site workshop where customers can view craftspeople through a glass wall. The facility will employ a team of five goldsmiths and jewellery designers to create bespoke items and provide engraving services.

Laings will launch four jewellery lines exclusive to the showroom. The pieces will use fully traceable gemstones and metals, including recycled materials and Single Mine Origin gold. A curated bridal range will also be available, offering customisation options for engagement rings and wedding bands.

The company is recruiting three sales staff for the site, which will be led by showroom manager Devlin McKeowan following his promotion from the Rowan House branch.

Serena Gough, services director, said: “Laings has called Glasgow its home since our beginnings. With the return to such an iconic location, such as the Argyll Arcade, it was important for the new collections to have a fingerprint of our story, design expertise and craftsmanship.”

McKeowan added: “It is a great joy to see this project coming to life. The experiences we will be offering invite clients to explore and open themselves up to the world of jewellery. The pieces are emblems of our story and the new showroom will further allow us to mark milestones and celebrate with clients.”
