Britain’s largest family jeweller has celebrated its 111th shop opening with an official ceremony attended by the mayor of Coventry and several members of the Hinds family.
The 1,400 sq ft premises means the chain is now at its largest number of outlets in its history. Six members of staff were recruited locally for the store, which is located in the Lower Precinct Shopping Centre in the centre of Coventry.
Lisa Gregory, who was promoted from the firms Banbury outlet to run the new shop, said: “We have knowledgeable, well trained and helpful staff, and shoppers will be delighted with the service they receive, whether selecting a beautiful diamond engagement ring, finding the perfect watch or having a battery replaced.”
Members of the 5th, 6th and 7th generations of the Hinds’ family were in attendance and together officially opened the company’s latest addition.
Charlie (7th generation) was the youngest to help with the ribbon cutting alongside the oldest; Roy Hinds (chairman, 5th generation); and Andrew Hinds (director, 6th generation) were present to celebrate the opening.
