Theo Fennell craftsman Simon Coldicott has landed three major accolades at the Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship and Design Council Awards.

A racing motorcycle design saw Coldicott, who has worked for Theo Fennell for more than 25 years, take home the Senior Award, the Senior Smallworkers Award and Modelmakers Award.

Coldicott hand crafted the sterling silver model of a classic MV Augusta 500cc racing motorcycle, intricately made piece by piece using the skills and techniques gained from over 30 years of experience as a jeweller and goldsmith.

In addition the craftsman, who spent 350 hours creating his masterpiece, was awarded the Jacques Cartier Memorial Award by the council in exceptional circumstances for outstanding craftsmanship.

These accolades join four others received by the Theo Fennell workshop from the Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship and Design Awards in recent years. Apprentice Philip Wilkins won the Junior Award in 2012 and in 2013 Coldicott took home the Senior Award, Senior Smallworkers and Modelmakers Award for a similar motorbike design.
