Piggott’s the Jewellers of St. Ives will appear on BBC 3 series ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ after a soon-to-be groom purchased wedding bands by Domino during filming.
The Cambridgeshire based store received a call from film crew who arrived as scheduled at 11.00am, the show’s star then set upon purchasing the couples’ wedding rings in store. The premise of the show sees a groom given £12,000 by the programme in order for him to put together a wedding without input from his future wife, in just three weeks.
Domino has long supplied Piggott’s with bridal jewellery and sales assistant, Emma Haycock served the customers while being filmed. Store manager, Sarah Edwards said: “Sarah was very professional and confident and didn’t seem at all phased by the microphones and the cameras – although clearly it wasn’t very easy to act naturally with all the other staff and customers watching her.
“It took her around just over an hour to close the sale, which is what we would normally expect for a bridal purchase.”
The groom left with a beaded, 9 carat, white gold band for his partner and a plain, D-shaped, white gold band for himself both from the Domino Wedding Box. The wedding will take place in just over a week so speed of delivery was an important consideration for Piggott’s.
Edwards added: “We did try to steer him towards Domino because we know they can provide a quick turnaround. Unfortunately the rings he actually chose are not stock items but nevertheless they will be able to make them and get them to us well in time for the big day.”
The show will be aired in September.
