The Kleshna Centenary Poppy Brooch and unisex Lapel Pin are handmade with silken Soutache cord and finished with sparkling crystal.
Soutache is the traditional military application of a special silken dual core cord developed in the 15th Century and still used to this day.
Swirls of silken Soutache braid were stitched to make intricate patterns which created uniform trimmings. Traditionally, width, colour and pattern of braid were used to indicate rank. The brooch comes beautifully boxed, complete with a provenance card detailing the products and the commemorations for WW1.
