The Houlden Group has announced plans for the trial of a new click-and-collect initiative with The Watch Gallery in an bid to expand into the luxury watch market.

The initiative will see participating Houlden stores operating as collection points for Watch Gallery customers across the UK and Ireland.

A statement from Houlden Group said: “Benefits to the Watch Gallery include a high level of service available to their customer on collection from a Houlden store, while for Houlden it’s the possibility of an add-on sale and ongoing relationship with a high ticket internet-based customer.”

David Coleridge, chairman of DM, which owns The Watch Gallery, said: “The key to customer satisfaction is to provide the most convenient model to the consumer.

“The combination of a real choice of luxury watch from the Watch Gallery website, together with a high-end environment for collection, with experts able to talk to you through your watch purchase, results in quite a unique offer for the customer.”
