H&T Pawnbrokers this summer raised over £20,000 for Cancer Research UK in an initiative which saw 185 stores and more than 1,000 staff members take part in fundraising efforts.

The money was raised through a variety of events including an inter-store baton relay, cake sales, ‘come dine with me’ competitions, fancy dress and family themed fun days, quizzes and bric-a-brac sales.

John Nichols, CEO of H&T Pawnbrokers, said: “Everyone at H&T was enthusiastic about raising money for this charity that helps so many people. We are delighted to announce that we have exceeded our original fundraising target of £20,000 for Cancer Research UK, and we hope that this contribution will help to support the charity’s aim of beating cancer sooner.”

Carol Pezzella, from the charity’s volunteer fundraising team, said: “The H&T team demonstrated such passion for their fundraising and we’re extremely grateful for the time and effort invested by every member of staff.”
