Guess Watches has announced the official launch of its new wearable tech timepiece, Guess Connect.
Guess partnered with Martian Watches, a California-based smartwatch developer, in August last year in an effort to deliver a “multi-function, fashion chic” smartwatch line for men and women.
Guess Connect is based on the company’s best-selling watch style called Rigor, and is powered by Martian technology, offering voice command, functions via Classic Bluetooth, and hands-free and eyes-free notifications to the wrist from thousands of apps and programmes.
The watch features a microphone and audio speaker allowing users to connect to their smartphone’s resident voice command app and give voice commands, talk and listen, and respond to texts directly from the watch.
Users can also customise which notifications are received on the watch, create unique vibration patterns to distinguish between alert types and recall recent notifications with a tap of the watch glass.
Cindy Livingston, president and CEO of Guess Watches, said: “The Guess Connect Smartwatch, Powered by Martian, represents one of the first true marriages of a fashion watch powerhouse and a wireless technology innovator. We are thrilled to move in this direction with a proven technology innovator to create smart, Guess designs.”
The watch will be officially launched at the CES 2015 in Las Vegas this week.
