Links of London targeted twice by raiders in just three days

North Yorkshire Police are hunting for two raiders after the Links of London store in Stonegate, York was targeted twice by the same offenders in just three days.  

The first raid took place at 3:18am on Thursday January 29, when two offenders entered the shop using a metal drain cover which they used to smash their way through the shops glass front door. The pair then jumped through the door and used hammers to smash glass cabinets, stealing 10,000 worth of watches, bracelets and necklaces.

In the second burglary, which took place on Saturday January 31 at 2:47am, the offenders used the same tactic to enter the store, before making off with £16,000 worth of watches.

The offenders were caught on CCTV and are believed to have fled from the store on a mountain bike and BMX.

The shop was forced to close for several days with the cost of repairs expected to cost around £5,000.  All of the watches stolen in the raid can be identified by their serial number.
