The Metropolitan police have confirmed that they are investigating an early-morning raid on the Ernest Jones store in Romford, north-east London.

Police were called at 2:30am on Monday, October 12, to the incident in Liberty Shopping Centre on Western Road, in which they confirmed a number of items had been taken. The area is currently cordoned off and no arrests have yet been made.

Firefighters were allegedly called shortly after 2:30am and attended to a small fire at the entrance to the shopping centre, which melted its laminated doors. The fire was put out by 3am.
