Scottish jeweller Chisholm Hunter has reported a rise in pre-tax profits of 29.6%, according to its latest financial update.
In its full-year financial update ending March 2015, Chisholm Hunter reported that pre-tax profits rose from £2.7m in the previous year to £3.5m in 2015.
Revenue stood at £29.6m during the year, rising from £24.9m in the previous year, while the company also achieved a record turnover with growth of almost 19%.
Chisholm Hunter, which has a portfolio of 24 stores across the UK, also reported that employee levels continued to rise, from 161 in 2013 to 221 in 2015.
This was a result of the company’s expansion with four new store openings in 2014 – including its second Edinburgh store – and the growth of its Glasgow-based support centre, which it said has doubled in size in the last 12 months.
Harry Brown, managing director, said the company’s success is testament to the “hard work and dedication” of its team and their “unwavering focus” on the customer.
He added: “We’re continuously looking for expansion opportunities in both our existing estate and new locations. The stores are increasingly supported by our website, in which we invested significantly last year, to expand its capabilities and to capitalise on its potential as a key growth channel for the business.”
