The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) has appointed Katherine Chappell as its special advisor for ethical issues.

Chappell, a specialist in fairtrade principles, has taken on the role in a bid to strengthen the company’s understanding of “specialist issues and encourage discussions about responsible sourcing”.

Chappell, who has been with the LDB for a number of years, said: “I am honoured to be appointed to this role.

“There are clear opportunities for the London Diamond Bourse in this area and I am excited about the prospect of working with the management team and clarifying the industry’s fair trade principles. We will achieve much together.”
